Happy Friday! This week, the only album that I really felt like taking a full listen to was the new one by King Tuff (as I greatly enjoyed the single “Psycho Star”). There are more than enough new singles to make up for the lack of exciting albums though.
Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) has a new side-project, The Longshot, and they have released their first EP. On the song front, there are two epic new singles from composer and jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, an uplifting and topical track from folk-punk Frank Turner, a power ballad from Florence + The Machine, a summery rap track from Swae Lee, as well as new singles from CHVRCHES, Snow Patrol, Nine Days, Matt and Kim, and songs from up-and-coming artists we’ve highlighted in the past (Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Sudan Archives, Señor Kino).
