New Music Friday: July 7, 2023

I hope all of you in the U.S. had a good, safe time celebrating America’s independence, and those of you not in America, simply had a good week. While I know millions of you will be celebrating another Taylor Swift re-recording release, I really, really hope you also give some of these new albums and songs a listen too in between your seventh or eighth Taylor stream.

Albums like the latest from garage rock/power-pop band The Pink Spiders, indie folk group Local Natives, alt-pop Euphoria star Dominic Fike, diet punks Guardrail, alternative rock from Rare Americans, and alt-emo band Sad Park (read our review of it here) are all out today and worthy of your listening time. There’s also a new Travis Barker-assisted EP from KennyHoopla, in honor of his upcoming dates with blink-182.

Niger-based desert rocker Bombino bursts back with a new track this week. Another great guitarist, Tash Sultana, is joined by BJ the Chicago Kid on her new track, and Mod Sun has dropped a new one he’s been teasing for a minute. Peter Gabriel has another one from his “Dark Side” mix, and we’ve got a bunch more from recently featured artists like The Arcadian Wild, Guitarmy of One, Organ Morgan, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Lauren Calve, Blue October, Jonah Kagen, Darlingside, First Aid Kit and Lupe Fiasco.

Some of the acts getting their first adds to our playlist this week are Annie Taylor, Henry Green, The Conscience Pilate, Katie Cruel, Marc Ribler, Odd Robot, Daniel Ellsworth, Najas and Lindsay Lou.

Listen to all of these and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
