September is ending, meaning there’s only three months left of 2023, two months left for our Best of 2023 lists (we include December releases in the following year) and only one month left for whatever you listen to to count towards Spotify Wrapped.
The month is ending strong, as any month with a new Dessa album would. The Minneapolis rapper/singer is back with her latest work today. Another artist we love here is Kurt Baker, a classic power-pop rock n’ roller with new music here today. And LP is world-famous already, and her new album will only continue to grow her legend. And if Vera Bloom keeps releases music like her new EP (read our review here), she’ll be a legend in the making. Also, UK two-tone heroes Madness have dropped a three-song EP to get your groove onto.
Three huge rock legends and sometimes rivals are both dropping new singles today; The Rolling Stones, with features from Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen with a song from an upcoming film soundtrack, and U2, with their Vegas-inspired new song. Pop-punk greats Sum 41 have dropped the first single from their upcoming final album, and Taking Back Sunday have an excellent third single out from their new one. Peter Gabriel‘s latest track is here, and Marvelous 3 have the second new one from their comeback album.
Black Pumas and Robert Finley have released more soul goodness, and Golden Apples continue their power pop domination. The Mountain Goats are always must-listens for fans of folk music, and Maria BC‘s latest is more ethereal pop to fade out to. We’re also welcoming back Sitting on Stacy, Jerry Leger, Neck Deep, Coma Girls, Meet Me @ the Altar, Nervous Eaters, Two Door Cinema Club, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, AJR, Latewaves, My Sister, My Brother, Autogramm, Samantha Franks, Pseudo Cool and Pen Pin.
Joining the list for the first time this week are Jakob’s Castle, Tristan Rene, Alex Nicol, Calling Hours, Cattle & Cane, Super Cassette, Blonde Redhead, La Force, MRCH, Every Us, Chnnll, Kate Klein, Solar Bloom, Desert Life, La Rosa Noir and Odd Robot.
