It doesn’t take a lot of people to make a lot of beautiful noise. Norwegian punk rock duo Something About Lily are proving that. The new group have only released two singles to date, but both conjure the melodic, gravel-throated melodic punk of groups like Hot Water Music and The Gaslight Anthem. Just take a listen to their latest single “Cracks in the Floorboard”.
The drums rumble in like churning thunder, while a slick, stinging guitar line builds on the emotion. The vocals are filled with heart and grit, and the chorus has the kind of anthemic heft that will sound better and better the bigger the rooms the band plays.
