New Music Friday: October 13, 2023

The October onslaught continues, with new albums out this week from the magnificent Menzingers, the durable Drums, the alluring Allah-Las and the exciting Exbats (read our review of their album here). The amazing Marvelous 3 have returned with a new album to blow us away, and ska duo Death of Guitar Pop bring hooks-a-plenty with their new drop. We also have a new EP from the brilliant boygenius.

After such a long drought, we’re now getting new blink-182 songs weekly leading up to their new album out next week. Speaking of long droughts, it’s been a long time since Lenny Kravtiz dropped new music, but today we get to share his latest jam. As she promised during her show, Lauren Mayberry has her latest single “Shame” out, and Black Pumas have dropped a third one from their next album. Sunliner‘s latest is pure punk excellence, and Say Anything continue to bring the enticing emo energy with their new track.

The Libertines haven’t dropped a new single in a good long time, so it appears they decided it was time for something new. Their fellow brits The Vaccines have the second single from their next one out, and Joy Oladokun celebrates the deluxe edition of her last album with a new track. Brittany Howard is on a new label and has a new single to reveal, and Cold War Kids can’t be blamed for wanting to release their new song “Blame”.

Returning to the list are Wax Owls, Chaz Cardigan, Sheppard, The Dollyrots, Jordan Michelle, Have Mercy, Mayday Parade, Atmosphere, Beirut, Gone Gone Beyond, Golden Apples, Joker’s Hand, Salt Cathedral, The Last Dinner Party and Poptropicaslutz! Artists we’re featuring for the first time this week are Madi Diaz, All Tvvins, Kitty Cohen, Alex Jordan, Mol Sullivan, Friend of a Friend, Morat, Woolworthy, Jordan Merrick, The Steel Wheels, Unwell, Marcus Rezak, Allegra Krieger and Abby Hamilton.

Hear all of these and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
