We are inching closer and closer to the holiday season, with an eventual slowdown of releases. Frankly I don’t mind – I have enough great music from 2023 to last me a whole other year. But some more albums are trickling in that can’t be ignored.
The first of those is the return of Beirut, the indie act that would incorporate a number of styles from Eastern European music into his sound. Always eclectic, it’s great to have them back. Next, country megastar Chris Stapleton‘s latest release is here to make a ruckus. Then we have two great EPs, one from Good Strangers (read our review here) and the other from Adult Leisure.
Folk punk pioneer Laura Jane Grace announced her new album this year, and dropped the second single from it. Judah and the Lion released two new songs to stomp and holler through your ears, and Sleater-Kinney will satisfy your cravings for 90’s styled alternative rock. Slightly Stoopid recruited their pals in Pepper and Stick Figure for their latest roots reggae jam, and indie darling Arlo Parks has surprised with a new single.
We’re featuring returning acts like Ben Kweller, Mando Diao, Alex Jordan, JB Elwood, Raisin Awareness, Catholic Guilt, The Steel Wheels, Have Mercy, Glass Violet and The Live of Famous Men. And artists we want you to discover in our playlist this week are TV Girl, Razor Braids, Jesse Kivel, Rosie Tucker, Brother Bird, Sinkane, Ellis, Mackenzie Shivers, Ashley Brandenburg, Driftwood, Venus, Alan Doyle, Brad Marino and Samuel Blaney.
