And we’ve made it; our final New Music Friday (and final post) of 2023. While we hope you’re also enjoying our Top EPs, Top Albums and Top Songs playlists, we’ve got one more list of new songs that came out this week that you should give a listen to as you ease into the holiday break.
Indie pop duo Eighty Ninety have a new album out of sumptuous tunes for your ears, and Magnolia Park‘s frontman Joshua Roberts has a new EP out that finds him going into alt-R&B territory.
Sum 41 announced the release date of their grand finale album, and with it dropped the first song from the metal side of the album. And if you want to keep the metal mood going, you can blast the new song from Dragonforce. While not a metal guitarist, J Mascis can still churn out the best solos you ever heard, even on acoustic tracks like on his latest single. Judah and the Lion have recruited Ruston Kelly (who made a strong showing on our EOY lists) for one last new song for 2023, and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, hot off Grammy noms, have surprise-released a new recording.
We’ve also grabbed new songs from returning artists like John Legend, Sea Girls, Twin Atlantic, Vince Freeman, Jack, John Oates, Wildes, and Bootsy Collins. Artists we’re featuring for the first time (for the last time this year) include Atelo Songs, Stephen EvEns, Lisa Curtis, Aurelance, The Veronicas, Kitchen Dwellers, Hermanos Gutierrez, Son of the Velvet Rat and Blowfuse.
Thank you everyone for supporting our site this year (for our biggest and best year yet)! We hope you enjoy your holidays and this final playlist of 2023, and we’ll be back with more great music to share with you in 2024!
