So I made it another year around the sun this last Tuesday, and spent much of it listening to music I love. Today, I’m hoping we all can discover some new music to love among the latest releases.
There’s a good chance of loving the latest from Alkaline Trio, who have already dropped three solid singles from the album. UK punks Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes are maters of brash rock n’ roll, and their new one should provide plenty of it. I find Dave Hause‘s style of heartland punk always a boon for my ears. Then there’s a new one from the always-idiosyncratic Gruff Rhys. And if you read our review from yesterday, you’ll know the latest from Astrid Sonne is out today. We’re also featuring a new EP from guitar-great Gary Clark Jr. and a split EP from emo/punk bands House & Home and Suntitle that should be a great intro to their sound.
Singer-songwriter Jade Bird dropped her first new song in two year this week, and I love the latest from Me Like Bees. Hurray for the Riff Raff has gifted us with two new songs and both are excellent. Frank Turner‘s second new song of the year hit streamers, and Bayside blasted out a new one along with an epic tour announcement. Wax Owls continue to show why they are one of the best folk rock groups gaining steam, while Frankie Flowers is cementing herself as a force in the indie scene. Wilder Woods has some assistance from The War and Treaty on his new single, and Yungblud has brought Lil Yachty along for a new musical ride.
Other artists being welcomed back this week are Liam Gallagher x John Squire, Imogen Clarke, Rosie Tucker, Driftwood, Dubinski, Polyglam, Briston Maroney, Lucius, Call Me Spinster, Night Windows, Joe Samba, Standards, Blowfuse, Trapt and Emily Yacina. And I’ve found a slew of new artists this week to bring into the Indy Review NMF fold, including AC Sapphire, OnceWereSixty, Oisen Leech, Wesley Dean, S.J. Armstrong, Kawala, Hans Williams, Bonzie, Lawrence Rothman, Shower Beers, Yarin Glam, Fletcher, L.A.B., FARR, Amanda Cy, Craig Wedren and Otherworldly Things.
Oh, and we have the first new Sunny Day Real Estate song in a decade.
