We’re full-throttle into March – so what does this weekend hold for all of us music fans?
If you aren’t familiar yet with Jack Antonoff’s band Bleachers, I don’t know where you’ve been. Simply put, all his albums are great, and his latest self-titled one will likely be no different. It’s out today. You may also remember multiple Grammy-winning artist Norah Jones, who over the last years has moved into a more indie-folk direction – hear for yourself with her new album. And brother bird is a newer artist, but very much deserving of being discovered – check out her new full-length. Also, past bad ass break-out Jean Dawson has a new EP out for ya.
Plenty of great singles out today as well. Lauren Mayberry (CHVRCHES) has the third song out from her forthcoming solo album. Mat Kearney has returned with the first single from his new album, and Iron & Wine have teamed up with Fiona Apple for their latest single. Jazz powerhouse Kamasi Washington dropped an eight-minute opus with the announcement of his new album, and NOFX, prepping for tour retirement, teased a new EP with a new song. The Libertines have shared the fourth song from their new album, due April 5th, and Better Than Ezra have the third single from their next one out.
The Black Keys have rolled out another Beck-assisted track, while Adeem the Artist surprises with a new drop. Gary Clark Jr. continues to show his growth with this latest, while Slash gets an assist from the great Brian Johnson on a bluesy new song. Rainbow Kitten Surprise surprised me with their new single, and the legendary Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds show why Cave is a true ‘wild god’ with their new song. There’s a previously unreleased track by Billy Idol, and it’s a joy to have new music from Mt. Joy.
We’re also happy to welcome back Aaron Lee Tasjan, Durry, Slash, Hook, Marcus King, The Ghost Club, Jon Muq, Pillow Queens, Jade Bird, Casii Stephan, Good Kid, The Warning, Jon Foreman, Nat Harvie, Beans, Mae Krell, Buffalo Tom, Dark Mean, Sam Evian, Hannah Cutt, Bryan Adams, Alex Jordan, Crow and Gazelle, Marie Dahlstrom, La Luz, girl in red, For Heads Down and Wild Pink to the list. Joining these esteemed alumni for the first time this week are MP Grey, Blitz Vega, Quiz Show, The Idoru, To Kill a Monster, Billy Alexander, Toddy, Fantasy of a Broken Heart, Side Saddle, Autoheart, Winona Fighter, Cold Years, Sam Varga, West 22nd, Max Blansjaar, Strategies and Gamblers.
