New Music Friday: May 10, 2024

We’ve got a pretty good rocking New Music Friday this week, with some releases that I’m certainly hyped for. Veteran punks Hot Water Music have been dropping great singles the last few months, so their new album is certainly going to be a strong collection. And if you read my review of the new Kings of Leon album, you’ll already know this is a strong, adventurous new one from them. Judah and the Lion‘s songwriting has been on-point with this new album, and indie artists Dehd need to be heard by more people, so hopefully their new album breaks them into that next level. Then we’ve got the latest EP from singer-songwriter/indie artist Side Saddle which is a gem.

The ever-inventive Coheed & Cambria have dropped a new stand-along single, and retro soul band The Dip have shared the second single from their new album. Spanish band Hinds have a new Beck-assisted track, and Mondo Cozmo has returned with a heavenly new song. Brits Travis are joined by Chris Martin (Coldplay) and Brandon Flowers (The Killers) on their new track, and other indie favorites like Iglu & Hartly, Rare Americans, Shannon & the Clams, beabadoobee and Sun Room have shared new jams.

Also returning to the list this week are The Chase, Razor Braids, Kim Richey, Polyglam, Jem Cassar-Daley, The Early November, The Story So Far, Kawala, Amber Wild, De’Wayne, Eric Sleeper, Farr, Gangstagrass, Wallows, Collective Soul, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Southtowne Lanes, Angus & Julia Stone, The War and Treaty, Palaye Royale, Pedro the Lion, lovelytheband and Super American.

And making their first appearances in our round-up this week are Amelle Rose, Marianne Leigh, The Peawees, Mascots, Secrecies, This Side of Wednesday, dePresno, Salem Wolves, Charming Arson, UltraBomb, My Best Unbeaten Brother, Marcel Wave, Man Must Explore, The Sidleys, Kate Cosentino, Jimmy Wooten and Vern Daysel & The Burning Breeze.
