We’re halfway through May, and we have another great New Music Friday for all of you!
Alternative rock juggernaut Cage the Elephant are back with their latest album, Americana heroes The Avett Brothers have shared their latest LP, and beloved indie band Guster‘s latest will certainly please their fans (read our review of it here). Guitar god Slash has dropped a guest-heavy blues cover album, and new groups Saint Social (who already impressed me with their EP) and Insects have new EPs on the list.
Two awesome indie rock groups announced new albums after long breaks this week and dropped new tracks; power-pop leaning Nada Surf, and UK collective Los Campesinos!. The Decemberists have dropped a fourth track from their upcoming album, while Strand of Oaks shared the third song from theirs. If you want more songs like those, we’ve got new ones from Wilderado, Cloud Cult, Boulder Fields and a never-before-released song from Monsters of Folk.
If you want something a little heavier, we’ve got new tracks from The Used, Felicity, Mest and One Step Closer for ya. Bon Jovi (who I am a bigger fan of after watching the 4-part docuseries on them on Hulu) are sharing the second single from their upcoming album, and glam-punks Head Automatica are back with new music after a long break.
