Anakyn Gray is the a great example of the dismantling of all genre norms in music. The young artists has no problem mixing together any number of genres into chaotic yet melodic, entrancing songs that are schizophrenic in the best possible way.
His most recent single “Manipulation Man” is a creative high point in his small but growing catalog. Starting with a thumping bass and electro-pop vocals, you might think you had stumbled upon a club remix of some alt/pop-punk song. The track then bulldozes into anthemic emo, the steps back into melodic pop rock. Gray keeps you guessing and the song is all the more exciting for it.
