New Music Friday: September 13, 2024

I hope all of you are enjoying your September! I spent last weekend enjoying my first vacation in a long while, capping it off getting engaged on the beach in Waikiki! The only hard part of a vacation is the catch-up that comes after, so I’ve been trying to catch-up on submissions and listens so I could bring you all a great New Music Friday today. You can tell me if I succeeded.

It’s not hard on the album front – today’s line-up is stacked with greats like Nada Surf, Snow Patrol, Cursive, Nick Lowe and Suki Waterhouse dropping new LPs. And a group you might not be familiar with yet, All Now, dropped a great new EP for you to check out.

And then the singles! We’ve got the long-awaited return of beloved artists like pop-punk stars All-American Rejects, Scottish alternative band Franz Ferdinand and UK singer-songwriter David Gray. Alt pop artist Little Hurt and folk songwriter Joy Oladokun are always welcome additions to our lists, and it’s always a party with new Less Than Jake.

Wilder Woods and Onelinedrawing have both shared two new tracks, and The Offspring have shared the third single from their upcoming album. Original punks MC5 shared a new track with Tom Morello, while new punks The Linda Lindas carry on the tradition with style. We are welcoming back Owen Marchildon, Flat Party, Justin Webb & the Noise, Bottlemoth, Rockers Galore, Friedberg, The Lookout, Stone Signals, Penny Bored, Briston Maroney, Hayley and the Crushers, Razorlight, Alberta Cross, Brett Dennen (w/Matisyahu), Joshua Radin, Soccer Mommy, Foushee, Pale Waves, Finneas, Christopher Owens, Ben Howard and Coin.

And from the submissions I scoured, I found gems from new artists like Fazerdaze, Aursjoen, Lynn Rosenblood, Kylee Phillips, Palomino Blond, Rebecca Haviland and Whiskey Heart, Knives FL, Patrick Hardy, Max Bianco, Party Nails, Red Telephone, Cascade Riot, Hinder, Ry X and Marcin.
