Today, we are excited to premiere the latest single from indie-folk artist Cape Jay. Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Cape Jay began his journey into music at an early age, playing guitar in his school orchestra. And he dove into songwriting, releasing his first single in 2022, and his continued to release music since, seeking to create sounds that bring comfort when most needed.
Releasing wide on the 18th, his latest single “Brazilia” can be heard exclusively here today. About the song, the artist has said:
“I am really excited about releasing this single, I feel it has the potential to connect to an international audience on a much larger scale than my previous releases. This song is about the toxicity in some relationships and how there is this constant push and pull between two people. It represents the need to look after our hearts and to follow what serves us and to let go of what doesn’t.”
Opening with pulsing keys, the song builds with hand clap percussion and Cape Jay‘s bluesy vocals. His swaggering delivery, accompanied by a backing gang chorus and intricate moments, proves to be an infectious and mesmerizing combination.
