New Music Friday: November 1, 2024

It’s here. It’s finally here! We have a new album from The Cure! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting a long time for this, so it’s of course on the top of our list for today. It’s also November now, so the album release schedule is starting to wind down a little bit, but we’re still getting the latest album of world-class covers from Willie Nelson, and a new EP from Authority Zero to accompany the latest from the famed UK alternative band.

Over a year since attending her first solo show, CHVRCH‘s Lauren Mayberry has finally announced the release of her debut album, and dropped another track from it. Speaking of artists going solo, TV on the Radio frontman Tunde Adebimpe has signed to SubPop and dropped his new solo single. Veteran punk rock bands Hot Water Music and Quicksand released a split EP, and we’ve got the new tracks from each artist. Bartees Strange continues to prove why he’s one of the best new indie artists out there with his latest, and classic indie rocker Beck joins The Black Keys on a new song from them.

Giovanni and the Hired Guns are back to teasing their next album with a new banger, and Fishbone have shared a fiery political track just in time for the election. We’ve got new songs from returning artists like Inhaler, Ronny Tibbs, SYML, Kathleen Edwards, Tigers in Cairo, Sean Barna, Advance Base, Huntley, Georgie Benz, Mondo Trasho, Heart to Gold, Rum Jungle, Fruition, Wishy, Derek Smith and the Cosmic Vultures, Crys Matthews, Delights, Straylings, blondestandard and The Jellybricks brightening up our list.

And we’re pleased to pepper in some fresh sounds for discovery from Ghais Guevara, Rat Boogie, Chatham Rabbits, The Holy Knives, Violet Love Child, Charles “Wigg” Walker, Inca Babies, Slackrr, Lukey B, Matilda Shakes, IMLAC, Diablogato, OK King, The Stray Pursuit, Eric Barlow, The Beautiful Game, The Ritz, Nether Hour, Jack Dean & Company, MC Homeless, Elle Belle, Dumb Crush, Varas, Worldwide Panic, Quill, Fang Island and Sölid Wazte.

Listen to all of this great music in our New Music Friday Playlist!
