New Music Friday: November 15, 2024

Rap rock fans rejoice – Linkin Park are back with their new album, featuring new singer Emily Armstrong. If you’re feeling some anger, this will be a good one for releasing your rage to. But that’s not the only worthy release out this week. 90’s pop rock group Sister Hazel have a new album that should be a nice emotional counterpoint to LP’s new one. If Fazerdaze are new to you, read our review of their new album and listen to it here. And as I’m a long-time Less Than Jake fan, I had to add in their latest EP.

Sam Fender is back with a brand new single from his next LP, which will be one of my most anticipated albums of next year. Canadian alt rockers Our Lady Peace are celebrating their anniversary as a band by releasing EPs of their big singles accompanied by new tracks, so we’ve got the latest new one here. The Kooks and Lovelytheband have collaborated on a new track, and folk punk Sunny War has shared the first taste of her next LP.

There are new rockers from major artists in the genre like Jack White and The Black Keys, and high-quality folk from Joshua Radin and Beirut. Kurt Baker keeps rolling out solid power pop numbers, while Zebrahead and Koyo keep dropping mosh-worthy bangers. We always welcome new music from Adult Leisure, and half•alive have shown they are the kings of indie pop. Other Indy Review-approved artists returning this week include John Calvin, Tibia, iNTeRNeT FReNDz, BoyWithUke, Jack Dean & Company, Myriad, Canyons & Locusts, Dakota 66, Skateland, Eighty Ninety, Sun June, Red Telephone, Adrian Lyles, Angel White, Brother Elsey, Caek & Minko, The Young Hearts, Human Potential, The Beautiful Game, Holly Lovell, Penny & Sparrow, Knives FL, Oh the Humanity!, Devon Thompson, Yola, Jack Dean & Company, Heart 2 Gold, Medium Build, The Deadbolts, Dave Hause, Los Campesinos!, Denm and Letdown.

And making their first appearances on the playlist this week are Eric Bass Presents, Frances Whitney, The 355’s, The World According to Billy Marvin, Charles James & The Rise, Linn Cervell, Noelle Sucks, De Jesus, Josh Gilligan, Specific Coast, Neil Parkinson, Whitney Lyman, Bella Rios, French Horn Rebellion, Avery Lynch, The Modbeats, Adore, REL, Ren Genevieve, Dennis Ellsworth, The Farm, RiZen, Maria Kelly and Mary Bue.
