Finland’s Arion may not be big names in the U.S. as of yet, but having been rocking Northern Europe for over ten years with their brand of pummeling, melodic metal and hard rock, it’s about time for American genre fans to take notice. With a new album on the way, and a powerhouse new single with “From an Empire to Fall”, we’re happy to start a wave of American press for the band.
Preceded by singles “Wildfire” and “Wings of Twilight”, “From an Empire to Fall” continues showing Arion‘s nimble musicality. Metallic riffs intertwine with sharp guitar solos, frenetic bass work and drums that pack a wallop. And like any great power metal song, the songs build and explode with epic choruses that are equal parts heaven and hell. There’s pomposity and grandiose showmanship in the best possible ways.
