Adeline V. Lopez released her latest EP before even graduating high school. As she’s preparing to go to Berklee College of Music in the Fall, she’ll be pretty far ahead of the game, considering the quality of tracks like “I Heard She’s Crazy”.
An ethereal, poignant acoustic track, “I Heard She’s Crazy”, whisks you away with Lopez’s airy vocals. The arrangement is stripped back, but builds into a sturdy, lightly rocking folk pop tune as percussion comes in on the chorus. You can hear elements of Lana Del Rey and Gigi Perez in her sound, but her lyrical outlook is all her own, as she narrates the kind of story spurned women know all too well.
