Happy New Year everyone! I’ll admit, I wasn’t planning on officially returning until next week, but wouldn’t you know it, a whole bunch of artists decided to drop great music in the first few days of 2025, so it felt like New Music Friday couldn’t wait.
What solidified the decision was a great new EP from Jared Hart (of Mercy Union fame). Had to go and share this with the world.
There were also new singles out from beloved post-hardcore vets Thursday, power-poppers The Jellybricks, indie rockers Pigeon Pit, folk-rocker Billy Raffoul, rapper Ghais Guevara, glam metallers Rizen, and heartland punk from both Dave Hause and his brother Tim Hause. Matt Pond PA piqued my ears again with their latest song, and Rum Jungle shared a solid new song.
Also heard some tracks from artists who needed their first appearance on the playlist; Thundermother, Streamer, Aidan Valentine and Honeybear, The Band.
