Well, that was certainly a month, wasn’t it? One we’ll probably never want to speak of again, except for maybe some of the fine music that came out.
The month is ending strong with the second LP from punk supergroup L.S. Dunes. I really enjoyed the new album from UK group Morganway (read my review of it here), and the new Grayscale LP is solid throughout.
TV on the Radio‘s Tunde Adebimpe officially announced his solo album and dropped the second single from it. Zach Bryan and The Lumineers have teamed up before, and in a way they did again by both dropping new music this week. Snow Patrol released a new album last year, and already have another new single for us. Art punks Sleigh Bells have returned with a new blasting bop, and Britpoppers The Kooks are back with a new track.
Charley Crockett continues his prolific streak with a new single (with a new album on the way), and beloved cult artists Sparks have returned with a catchy new track. J. Mascis has released a beautiful take on a Cure track, while alt poppers Bad Suns continue to delivery sugary melodies on their latest single. Other artists making splashy returns to our list this week include Stereophonics, James Bay, Ruth Lyon, R.O. Shapiro, Penny & Sparrow, Maddie Zahm, Drea, Laurel Smith, Magenta Moon, Crooked Teeth, The Wildhearts, Mattstahgraham, Anderson East and Julien Baker x Torres.
And the new voices we’re introducing you to this week include Emily Daccarett, Sophia Kennedy, Goldkimono, King Husky, Frank Meyer, The Bad Wires, bog berries, Errth, Adios Fatso, Joel Timmons, Mammal Talk, Holly Head, The Gentle Good, Louie Blue, Paul F Cook x With Sun, and Olivia Reid.
