New Music Friday: February 14, 2025

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re celebrating or not, I hope you find some new tunes to love in this week’s round-up.

Bartees Strange has become one of the most lauded indie artists over the last few years, and with his new album, he’ll be cementing himself as one of the best in the game. The Lumineers have long since certified their folk rock credentials and hit-makers status, so I’m sure plenty of you are already excited about their new album. More under-the-radar but worth hearing are the new albums from OC ska-punk band Bite Me Bambi (Read our review here) and alternative rockers Winona Fighter (see our piece on their music video for “Attention“). Lastly, there’s a great new EP from indie folk band TopHouse (read our review of it here).

Bon Iver announced that his EP from 2024 will becoming a full album this year, and shared the first new single. His friend Zach Bryan keeps dropping new tracks, with another one released this week. Head Automatica have finally shared the second new song since making their comeback, and Laura Jane Grace‘s latest continues the artist’s streak of provocative punk rock. Ben Kweller has recruited Waxahatchee for his latest single, and if you need some folkier rock, My Morning Jacket, Beirut and Lucy Dacus have new singles to oblige.

Sam Fender‘s new album is weeks away, and he’s shared another new jam from it this week. Ok Go just announced their new album today, and shared the second track from it. British greats Ozzy Osbourne and Billy Morrison have their latest collaborative single, and Jason Isbell has shared his second solo song from his upcoming album. Other artists returning to the list this week include Honestav, Our Lady Peace, The Luka State, Hotel Mira, Foxy Shazam, Dexter and the Moon Rocks, Japanese Breakfast, Doves, Star 99, Heart Attack Man, Pup, tibia, Mo Lowda & the Humble, Born Ruffians, The 355’s, Abbey Cone, Fantastic Cat, Jamie Duffy, Tim Hause, The Wombats, The Pomps, Marvelous 3, Joshua Radin and The Amazons.

And our finely curated picks of new artists to share with you this week include Your French Girlfriend, Balcony’s Paradise, Punchbag, Astles, Message to Bears, Joan Arnau Pàmies, Kiefer Luttrell, Sitting on Saturn, Haunted Mouths, Foxbat Last Days of Heaven, Céline Dessberg, AJ Rosales, JulianGK, Carriers, Empired and See Night.
