When things in the world are as bleak as they seem to be these days, sometimes you just need a good song for the end times. Thankfully we have veteran Canadian pop-punk band The Riptides to provide.
“As long as there’s an open bar, we know we’ll be all right” is one of the more hopeful lines in this melodic punk banger, as the group revels in everything going to shit with tongue-in-cheek aplomb. Standing defiant as every good punk should (“Now it’s over and we don’t even give a fuck at all”), the group breaks out a group sing-along chorus (“It’s the end of the world, and I’m just glad it’s over”) which sounds tailor-made to be sung at the brink of the apocalypse.
Cause if the world’s going to end, might as well go out jumping around to some classic pop-punk goodness.
