World Watch: The Imperfects

Country: Sweden

Originally a trio way back in the 80’s, The Imperfects have been on a long road to where they are today. Reforming in the 00’s, and bringing in new members while reuniting with the original trio, the band has found its voice as one of the finest punky, power-pop rock bands in the country.

Fast and powerful bangers like “How Far This Story Goes” mix delectable melodic hooks and youthful rage into fine song craft. The influence of bands like The Clash are clear on anthemic numbers like “Kids Are Leaving Home”, with it’s gang choruses and old school R&B rhythms, while “Tight” has the upswing-guitars giving it a ska bounce and sincere pop-rock chorus that hits the right notes. And one can often hear a good dose of saxophone in their songs, adding a bit of E Street Band flavor.

Listen to these Swedes make some perfectly enjoyable rock music in our World Watch Playlist.
