New Music Friday: April 25, 2025

April is ending with a bang, as we’ve got an enormous heap of great new album and singles to share with you today.

If you don’t like Billy Idol, I don’t think we can be friends. If you do like him, then buddy, be excited because the rock icon’s latest album is here. Speaking of icons, the Prince of Afrobeat, Femi Kuti, has his latest album out (read my review of it here). You can also find the new Broncho album in today’s list, following our writer’s review of it yesterday. Gigi Perez broke out big last year, and her new album containing those hit singles is here. British rocker Stereophonics have their latest collection of melodic britpop out, and Swedish band Ghost have a hardcore following, and I’m sure they will be all over their new album (so you should be too). Alt pop group Phoneboy attract some rabid fans thanks to their catchy sound, whom will all be celebrating their latest album. Singer-Songwriter Jensen McRae‘s latest moving collection is here, and finally, soulful singer Jessie Wagner has her latest album out for those looking for a throwback sound, and Nick Hexum has dropped his second EP of 2025.

In singles, we’re getting the first new original song from The All-American Rejects in ages, with their new album coming later this year. We have the third single from Haim‘s next album, and the third from Laura Jane Grace‘s next LP. The Bouncing Souls are back with a new track, and we’ve got the second new Linkin Park single from the deluxe edition of their album. Andy Bell is joined by the great Debbie Harry on his latest song, and Yungblud has shared the second song from his forthcoming album. And even after dropping one of the best albums so far this year, Sam Fender has even more music for us today, with a new single out.

Hayes Carll is back with some sweet new Americana, and Fishbone are barking back with a wild new anthem of ska punk. There’s more ska coming from The Slackers (featuring the late Greg Lee of Hepcat), Save Ferris and Catbite have shared the third ska-riffic track from their EP. Soul-rocker Curtis Harding has returned with his first new song in years, and alt pop superstar Lorde has made a splashy return with her new single. Portugal. The Man dropped a new song out of nowhere, and Beach Bunny shared another pop rock bop.

Also returning to the list this week are Arcade Fire, Wu-Tang Clan, Myles Smith, Daisy the Great, Halestrom, Carriers, Sleep Token, Pretty Rude, Heart Attack Man, Bakers Eddy, MF Tomlinson, Late Night Drive Home, Caitlin Cannon, SkyDxddy, Another Damn Disappointment, Olivia Reid, Suzallo, Brand New Trash, You Vandal, S.G.
