There’s something to the romantic notion of best friends making music together. So often, it leads to incredible results. Just take Texas duo Lift the Curse. Ryan Hegefeld and Jon Yadon Jr.’s ten year collaboration born of their friendship is still producing absolute bangers, like latest single “Violet Violence”.
The track is a fiery blast of hard-edged hard rock. With sharp riffs, riveting drums and powerful punk vocals, the song has a ferocious bite. The roaring backing vocals brings things into an even heavier territory, but it’s counterbalanced by Hegefeld’s almost bluesy softer notes. And the duo show their metal bonafides with searing guitar solo.
