If you’re a Bruce Springsteen fan like I am, then today is a fantastic day for you – Tracks II, a collection of seven lost albums by the Boss, is out for you to dive into. There’s enough here to pretty much fill-up an entire NMF playlist on its own, but we can’t ignore all the other fine music out this last week. This includes the latest from recent World Watch artist Juan Wauters, psych-rockers Daisychain (read our review here), pop-punk from Durry, and trailblazing ska-punks Fishbone (read my review of it here).
Pop-punk heroes Good Charlotte announced their upcoming new album last week, and this week they shared its first future-classic single. Another album announcement came from 90’s alt rock legends The Lemonheads, who are releasing their first new album in twenty years this year, and shared its second single. We got the third single from critic-darlings Wet Leg, and a cover from The Rolling Stones.
Indie rockers The Beths announced their new album on Anti this week, and shared a new track from it. Papa Roach have dropped their latest banger, and The K’s have shared another Britpop delight. There’s new power pop from White Reaper, and new wave pop rock from Fitz and the Tantrums. We’ve got more indie rock goodness from Royel Otis, Alex G and The Beaches, and some fine folk rock from Lord Huron. Daisy the Great dropped another alt-pop bop, and 90’s slack-rockers Superchunk‘s new one will take you back in a great way.
We have The Anti Groupies, late night drive home, Kai Crowe-Getty, Matisyahu, Dave Hause, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Willi Carlisle, Briscoe, The Carolyn, Anchor & Braille, Frame and Mantle, Sunday Morning, Devon Allman, Katie Malco, Sons of East, Ripe, NOSO, Jobber, Assertion, Sydney Sprague, Gina Zo, Have Mercy, Jonathan Plevyak, Runnner, Sun Room, Bombino, Nate Perry & Ragged Company, Moletrap, Sylo, Kier Byrnes & The Kettle Burners, Mark Mallman, Record Thieves, TJ Rosenthal, Skegss, Pleasure Pill, Mercy Music, Goldstate, and Nervous Nikki and the Chill Pills all back with new music on the list this week.
And earning their first songs in our NMF playlist this week are Small Shake, GOLA, Haunted Like Human, Noah Floersch, Claire Morales, Jet Black Roses, Pomona, fanclubwallet, Glimmer, Forrest Day, The Bends, Velvet Penny, La Nouvelle Musique, Project Overload, Nate Currin, Landon Smith, Origami Ghosts, Danger Days and Madison Margot.
That’s enough reading – get to listening! Our New Music Friday Playlist is right here for you.
