Banger of the Week: Never Enough – Sunset on the Midwest Side

Though as a group they are only two songs into their career, the members of Michigan four-piece bring nearly 20 years of rock and roll experience into their latest band Never Enough. And it’s easy to tell listening to the tidal wave of a punk rock single “Sunset on the Midwest Side”.

Attacking with the muscular power of bands like Face to Face or Strung Out, but with anthemic melodies draped in a celestial sheen, the song has that ‘stadium filling’ sound that is begging to be blasted loud. The drums barrel through with infectious energy, while the guitars create a spatial atmosphere. Lyrically, there’s a nice hint of nostalgia in the song, but not in any overbearing way.

If Never Enough were a bowling ball, “Sunset” would be a clean strike. Take a listen to it (Loudly) in our Bangers of the Week Playlist.
