Gaining attention as a powerful new voice in London’s indie art punk scene, Madame So returns tomorrow with a powerful new track and video, which I’m excited to premiere here first at The Indy Review.
The song “Sick of it All” is a raw, passionate anthem and statement of solidarity with oppressed nations and victims of war crimes. About the track, Madame So has said:
“This song is for every community whose pain is conveniently ignored, every victim whose humanity is weighed against political interests,”
In the song’s video, urgent guitars kick off over scenes of cities in ruin. So performs in perfect renegade fashion, calling out the perpetrators of this destruction; “Look in the mirror. Do you see horror? Can’t you feel anger with the monster?” More powerful imagery of a person in a gas mask flashes as So sings “Until death tears us apart,” and later the Palestinian flag comes up as So bemoans the whining of one side while children are dying.
The track is fierce, yet with a strong melody reminiscent of a raging Blondie. Watch the video above, and stream the song here starting tomorrow!
