It’s been a busy few weeks for music releases, but as we enter August, we’re getting a small respite. This week, we’re sharing the new album from the awesome artist De’Wayne (read my review of it here) and the retro flavorings of The Peppermint Kicks. And after surprise-releasing an album’s worth of singles on her website briefly last week, Hayley Williams have now made these all available for those of us who didn’t grab them. There’s also the third EP of 2025 from 311‘s Nick Hexum.
The Beths continue to do what they do so well on their latest single, while Me Like Bees are dropping their song of the summer. Sydney Sprague‘s latest is short and sweet, while I’m sure the new one from The Starting Line will ‘circulate’ through the scene quickly. Iron & Wine has teamed up with Band of Horses‘ Ben Bridwell for a cover of Kendrick Lamar and SZA‘s “Luther”, while Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro have declared it “hunting season”.
Earlier this week, we premiered new songs by Forrest Day and Madame So, and now have both in our playlist. We have two more new ones from Kathleen Edwards, and the Goo Goo Dolls have served us their second new track of the year. There’s also returning talent like …The World According to Billy Marvin, The London Suede, NoSo, Bones Shredder, Couch, Justin Webb & the Noise, Foot Ox, Glimmer, Adrian Lyles, Miles Kane, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, YearB4, Colony House, Dave Hause, Zuli Jr., Sam Barber, Jon Batiste, People R Ugly, Coyle Girelli and Del Water Gap.
And some new voices hitting the list this week include Common People, Edgehill, Sikarus, Mojo Morgan, Ferguson, Waking Iris, House of El, The Midnight, Carolina Mama, Smoking Oceans, Radio Free Alice, Pete Briley, Myah, Toy Parlour, Sleep Pod Two, The Remote Controls and Jon Chesbro.
So throw on our New Music Friday Playlist and dive into some fine new tunes this weekend.
