Joe Ryan, aka Jbryan, is a Florida-based pharmacist (according to his IG profile) who seems to be enjoying making music on the side. If he keeps writing songs like “This Place”, he may find himself in more demand for songs than pills soon.
A piano-based pop rock ballad, Jbryan has enough edge to his vocals to give the track an ominous air, which lifts on the wide-reaching chorus. About the song, Jbryan has said:
“Song for anyone who was stuck somewhere and it took everything they had to make a change- but that change was the best decision they ever made.”
Lyrics like “Night falls, we survive this place” capture that sense of desperation of needing to leave and make a change. “Set free in the great unknown. Found peace we can call our own” summons that feeling of victory for having taken that leap to make a change.
