There’s something to be said for writing a song with a clear direction. As part of a songwriting group, Brett Adam Sherman was prompted to write a track that defined “home”. Taking inspiration from his home city of Miami, Sherman ended up with the vibrant single “Feels Like Home”.
The track has so much to love about it that embodies the spirit of his beach-filled city. Surfy melodies, up-swing ska riffs, and upbeat rhythms give the whole song a bounce that would be great at an ocean-side party. Sherman’s vocals throwback to classic new wave and power pop vibes, making one think of colorful neon that one can see across the city at night. It’s feel-good ear candy, and one you’ll be bopping along to for a long time to come.
