Banger of the Week: Toifel – Kinderaugen

As always, punk rock remains alive and well in Germany. New voices are hitting their scene all the time, and one of the latest is Toifel. A German Street punk/Oi! project associated with the Berlin-based band Berliner Weisse, the project is led by a member known as Toifel, who handles vocals and guitar. Releasing his first single last year, he recently dropped his third song, the heavy-hitting “Kinderaugen”.

About the track, Toifel has said:

“When do we start questioning everything, seeing only the dangers and the negative? This song is about the desire to feel the lightness of life again and not automatically worry about everything. I often wish I could see the world through the eyes of a child again.”

While I of course can’t understand the lyrics, the track still pulled me in with its energetic guitars and jack-hammering drums. Toifel’s vocals are throaty and rough, but in the way that works beautifully in punk rock. This is a mosh-worthy jam, and a mighty banger.

So give it a listen in our Bangers of the Week Playlist.
