New Music Friday: March 13, 2026

It may be Friday the 13th, but there’s only good things coming your way today (at least musically speaking).

For those of you who like a bit of classic-sounding, swaggering rock n’ roll, there’s a new album out from The Black Crowes today. And if you love The Smiths, Elvis and Roy Orbison, then the new album from Brigitte Calls Me Baby will be your new baby.

Noah Kahan is looking to keep his forward momentum going with the second single from his upcoming album, and Holly Humberstone is on the cusp of blowing up in the U.S., so hopefully this new single puts her over the edge. After making news for guesting in Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy‘s performance of his songs, Michael Stipe has finally released a new solo song that is the title theme for new show Rooster. Kacey Musgraves talks about her “Dry Spell” on her new song, while Amy Shark vents about a “Big Dick.” Bruce Springsteen shared a beautiful Pogues cover, and emo/power pop titans Piebald announced their first new album in 18 years with a new track.

Indie rock rabble rousers Modest Mouse are back with an inflammatory rocker, while Deer Tick‘s new one is on the sweeter side. Bleachers dropped the second single for their next album, and Lifehouse‘s Jason Wade has a new epic love song out. Arkells called in another indie rock big-gun, Grouplove, for their new song, and The Lemon Twigs continue to showoff their power-pop mastery on their latest single. The Dollyrots‘ latest single is a rollicking blast, and Jack Johnson continues his chill, spacey soundtrack collaboration with Hermanos Gutierrez.

More artists we’re fans of who are back this week with new music include beabadoobee (feat The Marias), The Dirty Heads, The Helltones, Iglu & Hartley, The Academy Is…, Spacey Jane, The Cocktail Slippers, Lia Pappas-Kemps, Pressgang Mutiny, Gracie and Rachel, Super Sometimes, Sincere Engineer, Dexter and the Moonrocks, Koyo, Mark Ward, Adult Leisure, Kevin Morby, Elucid & Sebb Bash, Grade 2, The Jaws of Brooklyn, John Arter, Bob Schneider, Broken Social Scene, Bad Operation, Josh Ritter, Icarus Phoenix, Tres Kings, I Am the Avalanche, The Pretty Reckless, Drug Church, Pope, The Animeros, Easy Honey, Josiah and the Bonnevilles, Krooked Kings, Mattstagraham, Sunday (1994) and White Reaper.
