
I may currently be on the other side of the world, traveling in beautiful Japan, but that won’t stop me from sharing all the great new music out this week with you.
Music that includes new albums from Canadian indie rockers The New Pornographers, Swedish folk artist José González (read our review of the album here), Australian songwriter Courtney Barnett, 2000’s emo vets The Academy Is… (read our review of the album here), and California power-pop rockers The Pretty Flowers (read my review of the album here).
The Jakob Nowell-led Sublime are off to a great start, and keeping it going with their third new song as a unit. Face to Face frontman Trever Keith is introducing his new country-inspired solo album, while The Maine are drawing ever closer to their new album, dropping another new single this week. Folk great Hiss Golden Messenger has the second track from his next album out, and Fruit Bats continue their productive role with the first song from an upcoming LP.
The legend Paul McCartney announced a new album this week with a nostalgic new song. Ryan Bingham is one of the best songwriters in Americana music, and we have his latest single. Jungle sound as soulful as ever on their new soothing retro jam, while Spencer Krug is dropping his first solo song since Wolf Parade‘s viral revival. There’s shiny new alt rock from Switchfoot, alt pop from Suki Waterhouse and folk rock from Mt. Joy.
