I hope you avoided getting fooled this last week. I’m completely serious about the great release we have for you today.
Today, we have the incredible new solo album from Bedouin Soundclash’s Jay Malinowski (watch my interview with him about the album here). We’re also sharing the latest album from beloved songwriter Bruce Hornsby, and rising country/Americana act Sam Barber, And U2 seem to be in their EP era, as they’ve dropped their second surprise one of 2026.
I don’t think Weezer could have predicted their 2014 song “Go Away” going viral in 2026, but it’s once again put the 90’s mainstays in the spotlight, and gave them the perfect boost as they spent last week announcing their tour with a pop-up show and trivia night, and this week shared the first new single from their next album. This band will never “go away”, and I’m fine with that. Another band that has shown incredible staying power is Shinedown, who have their latest single out today from their anticipated new album. New Jersey’s new favorite song Bleachers pays tribute to “vans”, while Sparta‘s new single hits so hard, it’s bound to make a ‘crater’.
Jack White gives us a double-dose of new songs this week ahead of his SNL appearance, and two major composers, Hans Zimmer & A.R. Rahman, have teamed up for a piece from an epic new Bollywood film. There’s an electric new soul jam from Brother Wallace, and Low Cut Connie‘s newest track embodies the spirit of classic rock. Another alternative band on the rise, In Color, have shared another new track destined to help them gain new fans, while classic punk band Dillinger Four are back with their first new song in almost two decades. A classic emo band, Time Spent Driving, have released a previously unfinished track for the first time, and one of the most classic alternative artists, Peter Gabriel, has another new track out this week.
You also might recognize from past NMFs Atta Boy, mehro, Diva Smith, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Basement, Ray Bull, Super Cassette, She’s Green, Sincere Engineer, Resilia, Nathan Evans Fox, Super Sometimes, Dirt Road Souls, Arrows of Athena, 37 Houses, India Ramey, Fai Laci, The Zangwills, The Young Martyrs, Dermot Kennedy, Good Kid, Temper Trap, Kasabian, Ecca Vandal, Grade 2, lovelytheband, Codefendants and Vincent Lima.
And making their first appearances this week are talented artists like Phillip Phillips, Clover Stieve, SeeTrees, Pickle Juice, The Dambuilders, Victory Kid, Elizabeth & the Catapult, Joan as Police Woman, MASKS, Kid Sistr, Mad Tab, Post Sex Nachos, FEA, Aly Navarro, ØUTLINE, FILM, Paul Solger, Weird Nightmare, Henry Morris, Dylan Espeseth, Russell Jamie Johnson and Surf Trash.
