Throwback Thursday: R.E.M. – It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

Los Angeles is burning. Donald Trump is reigniting Middle East strife with his Jerusalem comments. A pedophile is likely going to be elected to the senate. I could go on and on, and the only anthem that could possibly keep any of us somewhat upbeat during all of this is R.E.M.‘s epic single from 1987’s Document.

While I’m sure none of us truly “feel fine” right now, it’s hard not to find some joy when singing along (or at least attempting to keep up) with Michael Stipe’s lightning delivery, building up to one of the band’s most memorable choruses.

And right now, anything that can bring something positive to the world is worth looking back to.
