I first became aware of Canadian singer-songwriter Dan Mangan when I fell in love with his song “Road Regrets” way back in 2009. Along with being able to craft rousing hooks, he also showed a masterful skill for humorous and poignant lyrics that could surprise you and move you in the same breath.
On his latest single “Fool for Waiting”, Mangan has written a love song for all the people out there who are a little crazy, and find that person who embraces that craziness. “If you try to be with me, I will try to get by. Some say I’m a fool for waiting. They don’t know, this fool doesn’t mind,” Mangan sings, with a warmth that will make you smile even as the melody breaks your heart.
