New Music Friday

Happy Friday the 23rd! Today, we receive Jack White‘s long-awaited eccentric new album. I’ve felt mixed about the pre-released singles, but White is an artist to be appreciated in the full-album context. On the other hand, George Ezra‘s pre-released singles have all been great, so I have strong hopes for his new album, also released today. Some of the big single releases this week are the new tunes from Panic! At the Disco, Ray LaMontagne and Snow Patrol‘s long-awaited return, but there’s also a new solo song from River Cuomo (Weezer), as well as new songs from classic soul artist Joan Armatrading, mother-son duo Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, indie surf-rockers The Buttertones, songwriter Bob Schneider, and a new piece of music from the Ready Player One score by Alan Silvestri.

And then there’s a band called Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Worth a listen just for the name, right?

Enjoy your listening this weekend.
