Happy first Friday of June! There’s a whole heap of exciting tuneage available today. Ben Howard‘s latest one is going to be a deep-listener, possibly the kind of album you listen to on headphones in a quiet room with no distractions. In contrast, American Aquarium‘s new collection of Americana rock and Roger Daltrey‘s new solo collection will be great blasting out of speakers. We also get a new EP from Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson, a mellow collection from Trevor Hall, and…the new Kanye West album. I’m going to try to listen to it without the biases.
In singles, we get two new songs from Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz and The Kooks, new songs from 90’s favorites Better Than Ezra, Dave Matthews Band and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, fresh punk from The Interrupters and The Menzingers, jazz from Kamasi Washington, and some more eclectic fare from Slightly Stoopid and Ozomatli.
Hope you can all find something you enjoy to take you into the new month.
