Happy Friday everyone! While I know many of you are already gearing up to blast holiday music for the remainder of the year, there are some very worthy non-holiday themed new albums and songs out that deserve a little ear-time from you.
One of the biggest new releases today is from British folk group Mumford & Sons. I’d also advise you all to check out the newest release from Mark Knopfler, best known as the frontman from the Dire Straits. Knopfler is the type of musician who can hang with people like Bob Dylan, so be sure to give this a deep listen. And for those of you wanting something a bit lighter, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness have dropped their new album, containing the excellent single “Ohio”.
In songs, anyone in the need of some classic political punk should blast Bad Religion‘s latest single loud. The Avett Brothers have released the first single from their next album, Hozier released a new one that’s spreading to radio, and there’s also new singles from some great up-and-coming bands like The Regrettes, Starcrawler, Bad Suns, Skizzy Mars and Radkey.
