Welcome to February! The start of the new month brings us a few interesting new albums and a huge mess of new singles to check out.
British ska legends The Specials have dropped their first new album in over a decade, featuring the turn of original “Ghost Town” singer Terry Hall. Indie world music star Beirut is out with a new collection of tunes in his eclectic style, and pop rockers American Authors have a new guest-heavy LP. Also check out the full-length from previous World Watch group Spielbergs.
In singles, rockers Cage the Elephant have returned with the first taste of their upcoming album (due in April). As has singer-songwriter Josh Ritter, from his upcoming Jason Isbell-produced set. Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn as a new solo song out, as does soulful-voiced songwriter Bhi Bhiman.
We’ll also be listening to new ones from Aussie dance rock group Empire of the Sun, Texas guitarist Gary Clark Jr., alt. pop group AJR, psychedelic troop King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and many more.
