Check This: Tiny Fighter – Strangest Thing

Artist: Tiny Fighter

Song: “Strangest Thing”

Genre: Indie, Pop, Alternative

Label: Bay Terrace Records

Swedish-Australian indie pop outfit, Tiny Fighter, recently released their newest single ‘Strangest Thing’ – an introduction to their debut album Going Home, to be released on March 7th, 2020 via American label, Bay Terrace Records.

Tiny Fighter was formed after a chance meeting between Therese Karlsson (a truck driver from Kalmar, Sweden) and Tim Spelman (a doctor from Melbourne, Australia). The two met in Stockholm in 2017 and began collaborating – offering an enticing mix of indie-rock and berserker chamber pop.”

Leading up to the release of their debut album, the band has released various EPs and singles, including a cover of a song by another Swedish pop artist, Robyn – “Dancing On My Own.” Their songs cover a range of styles – from having an upbeat feeling of pop music, to darker arrangements reminiscent of 90’s grunge rock, to ballads that remind me a bit of some of the symphonic metal I’ve heard come from that part of the globe.

The new single, “Strangest Thing,” has a fun upbeat tempo, with a combo of synthesizer and guitar riffs – supported by the deeper, full, vocals provided by Therese Karlsson. The catchy tune will, no doubt, get stuck in your head on repeat.

“Strangest Thing is a song about the propensity to excuse or downplay toxic behaviour
within a relationship. What may seem to others on the outside to be irrational or
unacceptable can be sometimes difficult to acknowledge or challenge when in the heat of a relationship with another person. This song is about those two competing perspectives,” says Therese Karlsson.

Take a listen to this new single below in our Check This 2020 Playlist, and keep your eyes peeled for the full album on March 7th! You can pre-order it now on BandCamp.
