New Music Friday – March 6, 2020

It’s the first New Music Friday of March, and it’s one of the biggest drop days we’ve seen in a while.

The album that will be first to spin for us is the long awaited third release from indie folk artists Cassino. Their first two albums I’m always going back to, so wonderful to have this group return. Another return today is from British rockers Cornershop (best known for “Brimful of Asha”). And we have a third C-release today as well, from indie pop songwriter Caroline Rose. Soul artist Swamp Dogg has his latest Justin Vernon-assisted album out, and tying things up is the debut full length from Flora Cash, whose single “You’re Somebody Else” was a radio hit last year.

Speaking of radio hits, expect the surprise come-back single from the Dixie Chicks to be a crossover smash. Some other new songs deserving of everyone’s attention are the latest from Americana rockers American Aquarium, punk duo The Lemon Twigs, alternative group Airborne Toxic Event (which will be the soundtrack to the memoir the lead singer is releasing this year), sister group Haim, emo rapper Smrtdeath, and a collaboration between Louis the Child and Foster the People.

If you’re into the sweet soul sound, we also have added in the first new singles being released on Daptone Records new imprint Penrose Records, which were all released today.

Check all these out and more in our New Music Friday Playlist below!
