Leeds-born, Los Angeles based singer, writer, producer Julian Shah-Tayler (aka The Singularity) has been an important fixture behind the scenes for years, working with a number of artists and gaining attention as a member of electroclash group Whitey. His music has scored film and television and even has an unreleased album somewhere he recorded with Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix and Spacehog‘s Antony Langdon.
He’s now pushing forward with his own original material, with the 80’s-indebted pop rock single “Secret” being the first taste. Showing flavors of Bowie (no too surprising, as Shah-Tayler fronts a David Bowie tribute band), “Secret” is a savory dance rock nugget, driven by funky guitars, horn flourishes and handclap beats. It’s the kind of track you would easily find yourself dancing through your house to if it came on.
