Happy Friday! We’ve got a great batch of new tunes for you today, mixing the mellow with the manic, the veterans and the newbies, and everything in between.
The Killers return with a toned-down, thoughtful new album only a year after their bold last one. UK singer-songwriter Jade Bird makes her return with her sophomore album, and we have the latest EP from buzzy pop-punk band Meet Me @ The Altar!
80’s superstar punk rock icon Billy Idol is back with the first single from his upcoming Butch Walker-produced EP. Speaking of 80’s stars, Duran Duran have dropped the second single from their forthcoming new album. Also making a big return is the collaboration project between Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Their previous record went platinum and won a slew of Grammys, and today they’ve dropped the first single from their next album, a Lucinda Williams cover.
After blowing up to the next level with his pop-punk album, Machine Gun Kelly has teamed up again with Travis Barker for his next album, which judging by this new single, is moving towards a grungier, hard rock sound. Another heavier new single is in from Slothrust, featuring Lzzy Hale. Reggae band SOJA have their next single out, featuring members of UB40 and Rebelution. Some other favorites with new songs this week are Cold War Kids, Arkells, Face to Face, Lizzo, Nick Hexum and Sufjan Stevens.
We liked their last singles so much, that we had to bring back Jackson + Sellers, Sam Johnson, Vanessa Gimenez and Indigo De Souza with their new tracks. And as always, we love featuring new artists who have yet to grace our NMF playlist before, and today some of the fresh tunes are from The Happy Fits, Basement Revolver, Erin McKeown, Sea Girls, Rosie, Saleka, Carlie Hanson, Crooked Teeth and Little Hag.
