New Music Friday – October 1, 2021

October is here, and we’ve got all the latest new musical goodness for the start of the month.

We’re excited for the latest album from one of our favorites, Strand of Oaks. His “Galacticana” sound is always a thing of beauty. We’ll also be spinning the new one from the buzzed-about Illuminati Hotties.

Two great songwriters return with new singles this week. Tori Amos has dropped her very personal new one, as the first taste of her next album Ocean to Ocean. John Mellencamp brought in the Boss himself Bruce Springsteen to help him on his latest track. And with the announcement of the unreleased David Bowie album Toys getting an imminent release, a previously unheard track of the Thin White Duke was released today. The Rolling Stones have dropped another unreleased track from their Tattoo You sessions, and a couple other of the greats; Sting and Elton John, also have new singles out this week for fans of the classics.

Some other familiar names with new tunes this week are Aussie Courtney Barnett, recent Banger band Magnolia Park, alt pop artist Remi Wolf, emo/pop-punk songwriter Justin Courtney Pierre, dark chanteuse Skylar Grey, Texas rockers Giovannie & the Hired Guns, and indie rockers Wallows. Oh, and Limp Bizkit have a new single out too (and we’re including it, haters be damned).

Some of the fresh faces we’re spinning this week are Rancid Eddie, Empath, Jeremiah Moon, Kady Rain, Diamondtown and Keep it a Secret.

Check out all of this music and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
