Lost Tuesday Society are a 6-piece band with diverse musical backgrounds, which they brilliantly sync to create their sound. They bring a range of personal influences; from traditional and alternative folk to grunge and shoe-gaze, funk, psychedelia and rock. The band members include Jay Browning (bass) Alfie Scheinman (guitar, flute, vocals) Sarah Birch (guitar, vocals) Darran Browning (guitar, vocals) Simon Jones (drums) Kate Ronconi (violin, vocals). I adore how many vocalists this band has, because I’m a sucker for excellent vocal harmonies, but that’s just the tip of their well rounded sound.
Their new album, Bee Skin Rug, is set to release on October 22, 2021, and the debut track, “Lights,” does a great job encompassing what this band has to offer. You are greeted immediately with some solid a cappella vocal harmonies, and then the flurry of instruments slowly make their way into the sound as the song progresses. It is an enjoyable journey from start to finish.
