We are plugging away through January (and I’m preparing for a big birthday weekend), and we’ve got some killer albums to hear dropping today. We’ve got the vicious new one from Canadian punks Billy Talent, and the latest from classic rock singer/songwriter rocker John Mellencamp. Rising rapper/pop-punker Iann Dior also has his debut album out today, and we have an EP from rockabilly rocker Kevin Preston.
Head and the Heart return with their first new single in a few years, and Little Hurt (who’s last EP was one of our Tops of 2021) is starting 2022 off with new music as well. Pup have the third song from their next album, as do Animal Collective, and new music from Superchunk is always welcome. A Day To Remember and Smrtdeath have dropped a new tracks featuring Mark Hoppus which I’m looking forward to blasting loud, along with the new single from Papa Roach.
We’ve got new songs from some artists you may have discovered here in past NMFs or others posts, like Sticky Fingers, Bakers Eddy, DBMK, Big Nothing, Anna Shoemaker, Divided Heaven, Magnolia Park or The Keystones. Some of the new artists we’re spinning for the first time this week are Partner, Bollards, Altameda, Holly Humberstone, and Ulrich Forman.
