What a week it’s been! Feeling pretty exhausted, but happy to have some great new music to listen to. Top of our list is the latest from Canadian alt rockers Our Lady Peace. The singles released so far have all been good, so this should be a solid one throughout. Next there are new ones from indie songwriter Eels, and rock/soul group St. Paul & The Broken Bones. Finally, we’ll be trying out the debut album from UK act Thyla.
In singles, we’ve got a major emo collaboration out from Taking Back Sunday, The Maine and Charlotte Sands. It’s an anthem tailor-made for the When We Were Young fest crowd. Franz Ferdinand have the second new song for their upcoming greatest hits album out, and bedroom pop star Rex Orange County is back with a new bop. American Authors have a moving new track with Chad Tepper, and Telltale have recruited Honey Revenge for a darkly melodic banger. And then, the fantastic Kooks have released three singles from their next album, coming later this year.
Hamish Anderson, Morgan Wade, Caroline Romano, Pizza Crunch, The Moore Family Band, Tidal Wave and Julianna Joy all make returns to our lists. We’ve got lots of music from first-timers on our list this week, including Ginla, Lisa Heller, Simon and the Astronaut, kind., Yony, Electric Enemy, Ryan Bourne, Party Favor, Buffalo Rose, Sadurday and Cliche Cult!
