New Music Friday – March 18, 2022

I hope you’re all recovering from your St. Patrick’s Day celebrating. If you need some soft, calmer music today following last night, the new one from Midlake will be perfect for you, and will pair well with Donovan Woods’ new EP. But, if you’re still ready to rage, you can keep the energy high with the latest punk rock blockbuster from Hot Water Music, and then ease yourself into the weekend with the new Sea Girls album.

It’s a big week for single releases from major acts. Indie rock stars Arcade Fire are back with their first new (and excellent) songs in five years. Weezer have dropped the first taste of their Spring-themed EP, Muse has the second single from their new album, and rock stars Def Leppard are showing off a new stadium anthem from their upcoming new LP. Pop-punk fans can indulge in the latest ones from Simple Plan, Machine Gun Kelly, KennyHoopla, Yours Truly and Magnolia Park, and planned perfectly for St. Patrick’s Day, we get new releases from Flogging Molly, The Dreadnoughts, Flatfoot 56 and The Rumjacks.

Muna and Lucius are both releasing new alt-pop gems. Devon Kay and the Solutions have gone full-on ska with their new one, and A Wilhelm Scream‘s latest is them at their catchiest. We’ve also got the latest from Andy Frasco & the U.N., Theo Kandel, Mattstagraham, Storm & Stone and Mercy Union!

Artists getting their first spins in our NMF playlist this week are Ben Talmi, Oliver Keane, Abigail Lapell, Justin Stewart Cotta, Island of Love, Aubrey Haddard, Laney Jones, Mothé, Samica, Tiny Stills, Bob Marston & the Credible Sources and Le Big Zero.

Start listening to all of these and more in our New Music Friday Playlist on Spotify or Apple!
